Created and led by Miss Kerisha Powell, Youth Impact Awardee for Youth Development, the Queen City Youth Development Program supports the next generation of female football talent through structured coaching and mentorship. Miss Powell, a dedicated advocate for youth empowerment, designed the program to expand opportunities for girls in football and further enrich the island’s vibrant sporting culture.

The initiative brought together experienced coaches and facilitators who delivered technical football training, fitness development, and personal growth activities. Sessions focused on enhancing teamwork, confidence, and resilience, core skills that help young athletes thrive both on and off the field. Participants also benefited from mentorship opportunities that encouraged leadership, self-belief, and a strong sense of community among the girls.

Queen City FC went on to participate in a competitive female soccer festival that featured six strong teams, where the squad earned an impressive fourth-place finish. The event gave the girls valuable match experience, strengthened team spirit, and allowed them to showcase their development in a supportive and encouraging environment.

Kate Tebbet, Head of Community Engagement at Regency Assurance, commented:

"Supporting initiatives like the Queen City Youth Development Program is central to Regency’s commitment to creating opportunities for young people. This program not only builds technical ability but also gives young girls the confidence and opportunity to pursue their ambitions. Miss Powell’s leadership has created an inspiring space for female athletes to grow and shine, and we are proud to support her vision."

Through this initiative, Regency contributes to several United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, including Quality Education, Gender Equality, and Reduced Inequalities. The program continues to empower young female athletes and enrich the future of community sport across Nevis.
