REGENCY NEWS
Regency Assurance is proud to announce its continued commitment to supporting sustainable agriculture through the expansion of the Organico869 initiative. This effort aligns with the company’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) pledge and the United Nations Global Compact, reflecting Regency Assurance's dedication to making a positive impact in the communities it serves.
For the second consecutive year, Regency Assurance has sponsored the expansion of the highly successful Youth Impact 12 Awards program, established by the Department of Youth in Nevis. This year, the spotlight is on the Organico869 initiative, which has been pivotal in promoting sustainable agriculture on the island. The initiative, spearheaded by Hydeia Tyson, a passionate advocate for sustainable farming, focuses on increasing the participation of women and young people in agriculture, conserving agricultural ecosystems, and boosting organic crop production.
The Organico869 program aims to support its startup phase by establishing key infrastructure at the farm in Gingerland. This includes the installation of vital water systems and the construction of fencing, both crucial for the farm’s operation and sustainability. The vision of Organico869 is to enhance food quality and safety while protecting the environment—a mission that resonates deeply with Regency Assurance’s own values of sustainability and community well-being.
Kate Tebbet, Head of Community Engagement at Regency Assurance, commented on the company’s involvement:
"At Regency Assurance, we believe in nurturing the communities we operate in, and our support for Organico869 is a testament to this commitment. By backing initiatives that focus on sustainable agriculture, we are not only contributing to the health and well-being of the local community but also ensuring that future generations inherit a thriving and sustainable environment. This project embodies the essence of our CSR mission, and we are thrilled to be a part of it."
As Organico869 progresses into its next phase, including the development of vermicomposting, Regency Assurance remains dedicated to its role in fostering sustainable development in Nevis. This partnership underscores Regency Assurance's broader commitment to upholding the principles of the United Nations Global Compact, which advocates for environmental sustainability, human rights, and social responsibility.
